Introduction

There are a number of reasons you might want to transfer music from one iPhone to another. Maybe you just got a new iPhone and want to move your music collection over, or maybe you want to share some songs with a friend. Whatever the reason, there are a few different ways to do it.

One way to transfer music from one iPhone to another is by using iCloud. iCloud is Apple’s online storage service, and it can be used to sync music between two iPhones. To do this, you’ll need to have iCloud set up on both iPhones, and you’ll need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network. Once you have everything set up, open the Settings app on your first iPhone and tap “iCloud.” Then tap “Music” and make sure the “iCloud Music Library” switch is turned on. Now open the Music app on your first iPhone and select the songs you want to transfer. Tap the Share icon (it looks like a square with an arrow coming out of it) and then tap “Add To My Music.” The selected songs will now be added to your iCloud Music Library.

On your second iPhone, open the Settings app and tap “iCloud.” Tap “Music” and make sure the “iCloud Music Library” switch is turned on. Now open the Music app on your second iPhone and tap the “For You” tab at the bottom of the screen. You should see all of the songs that you added to your iCloud Music Library on your first iPhone. Tap the download icon (it looks like a cloud with a down arrow) next to each song you want to download, and the song will be downloaded onto your second iPhone.

Another way to transfer music from one iPhone to another is by using iTunes. iTunes is Apple’s media management software, and it can be used to transfer music between two iPhones. To do this, connect both iPhones to your computer using their USB cables, open iTunes, and click on the device icons for each iPhone in iTunes’ left sidebar. Then click on the “Music” tab for each device in iTunes’ main window. Make sure that the “Sync Music” option is checked for both devices, and then click the “Apply” or “Sync” button in iTunes’ bottom-right corner. Your music will now be transferred from one iPhone to another!

What you need

Before you begin, make sure that both of your devices have the latest version of iOS, and that they’re signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID. You also need to make sure that each device has enough available space to store the files you want to transfer.

If you’re using iOS 11 or later, you can use AirDrop to share files between iPhones, iPads, and Macs. If you’re using an iPhone 6 or later,* you can use Universal Clipboard to copy and paste between your devices. And if you’re using an iPhone 5 or earlier,* iBooks is the best way to transfer PDFs and books from one iPhone to another.
